Why we love this project

By rehabilitating 18 hectares of mangrove forest, the Fundación Naturaleza Panamá will protect the municipality of Bocas del Toro from sea level rise and erosion and will also help bringing back many species of birds and marine life.

About the project developer

Since 2006, the foundation has been working towards protecting, conserving, and restoring the biotic resources of the Panamanian state by collaborating with multiple private, public and grassroots organisations. They have been operating in this specific area of Bocas for the past 5 years with the support of state institutions with whom they have signed a cooperation and collaboration agreement, renewed every 5 years. The nursery on the mainland is also owned and managed by local communities, paid fair living wages.
